A cleaner campus for all

With our ambition to make tomorrow better, our West Australian campuses are smoke-free.

Curtin has a duty of care to protect students and staff from hazards such as second-hand smoke. Medical reports confirm there is no safe level of exposure to tobacco smoke, and even low levels of exposure to second-hand smoke put non-smokers at risk.

What has happened?

The Curtin University by-laws have been amended so that smoking anywhere on University property is prohibited. Banners will be posted around campus, and promotional materials will be available to remind staff, students and visitors of the changes.
